How to Recycle Your Old Prom Dress
A prom is probably a very important moment in your life. You spend hours or even days choosing that all important prom dress and it will probably have cost quite a lot of money too. No doubt, you will have enjoyed your prom, but once it is over will you ever wear your prom dress again? There is no need to leave it languishing in the loft, here are just a few ideas on how to recycle it.
Swap it – Why not swap it for a lovely dress that you could wear to next years prom or something completely different. You can do so by going to a clothes swapping party or by visiting a clothes swapping website.
Sell it – if you spent a lot of money on your dress, why not get some of that money back by selling second hand. You can sell it through a dress agency, a classified advertisement or a second hand clothes website.
Donate it to charity – instead of making a money donation to your favourite charity, you could donate your prom dress to be sold through a charity shop. This is a great way to make a donation especially if you can’t be bothered to do anything else with it.
Make it into something else – there are lots of ways that you can make your old prom dress into something new. You could perhaps shorten it to make a less formal dress, turn it into cushions or even use it to cover photograph albums or notebooks.
Recycling your old prom dress is a great way to do your bit for the environment by reducing waste and landfill. Not only will you get something else useful instead or some money or a good feeling inside, you will make some space in your wardrobe or loft and help to keep your home clutter free.
